As a two-square-mile town it’s hard to point to specific neighborhoods in Haddonfield. Almost everything is within walking distance, making it a great place to raise a family. In this post, we’ll explore different parts of Haddonfield to help you get a better idea of this South Jersey town.

In general, Haddonfield has many victorian and colonial homes, most built before the 1940’s. New construction homes in Haddonfield are harder to find. Three to four bedroom homes with detached garages are common. Haddonfield neighbors Haddon Township, Haddon Heights and Cherry Hill. It’s a short 15 minute drive into Philadelphia and conveniently located closet to Highway 295, Routes 70 and 73 and Route 38.

Close to Town Center

Being close to Kings Highway in Haddonfield is exciting. With plenty of restaurants, shops and other places to visit, you won’t be disappointed. You are within walking distance of Haddonfield Middle School, Haddonfield Friends School and Haddonfield Memorial High School. Walk to the local grocery store and post office. Perfect for a growing family or a couple who wants the vibrancy of a downtown with the charm of a small suburban neighborhood.

Real Estate: Downtown Haddonfield has a mix of historical single-family homes, twins and some apartments for rent in the King’s Court area. The real appeal is the walkable factor to all Haddonfield schools as well as shops and restaurants.

West Haddonfield


West Haddonfield is considered the neighborhood on the west side of Kings Highway (Haddonfield’s main street). West Haddonfield is proximate to Elizabeth Haddon Elementary School, the PATCO Speedline train station and the Haddonfield Public Library. The homes in West Haddonfield tend to be older and larger with three to four bedrooms and good-sized yards. West Haddonfield is also a stone’s throw from Haddon Township, Westmont and Collingswood. You can find cute shops, bars and restaurants galore in these small towns.

Real Estate: In West Haddonfield, you’ll find mostly larger, older homes. These homes are typically three to four bedrooms with detached garages.

Tavistock


Tavistock is actually its own borough, though you might not know it from its size. This very small community surrounds Tavistock Country Club and only consists of a few large homes. It is proximate to Highway 295 and Tavistock Swim Club.

Real Estate: Tavistock homes are generally very large. Residents of Tavistock rave about the privacy and solitude of their neighborhood.
