How To Stay Warm This Winter

It’s safe to say that it’s been pretty cold outside lately. Unless you are willing to bundle up and brave the cold, we suggest staying inside and keeping warm! Here are all the activities you can do to avoid the cold and enjoy the indoors.

Sit by the Fire

There are plenty of local restaurants with fireplaces to warm up to. Braddock’s Tavern in Medford will warm you up in no time while also supplying you with delicious food. Appetizers and drink specials run from 3pm to 6pm Monday through Friday.

Rat’s Restaurant in Hamilton offers a lounge with a fireplace as well as plenty of outside attractions at Grounds for Sculpture. They offer indoor activities, too, like their Winter Wellness event where you learn the practice of Tai Chi. Afterwards, warm up at Rat’s.

Eat and Drink

The Pop Shop in Collingswood features hot chocolate for particularly cold days. Or for a hot lunch, try one of their signature grilled cheeses. With over 30 different variations, you have plenty of options! Jersey Java in Haddonfield serves hot cocoa and much more. Looking for a weeknight activity? Jersey Java regularly hosts open mics and poetry nights.

Exercise

Ok so it’s not exactly a cozy activity but it will keep you warm! Get your New Year’s Resolutions in full gear by visiting these local classes. They are guaranteed to warm you up and increase your heart rate!

Yoga Path Studio in Moorestown offers morning and evening classes, and even has classes for kids between the ages of 5 and 13. Located right on Chester Avenue, this yoga studio is in walking distance of downtown Moorestown. Another option for yoga is The Studio for Yoga right on Main Street. With classes like lunchtime flow, there’s no excuse to miss a class!

For something a little more upbeat, try Upcycle in Collingswood. A cycling, barre, and yoga studio all in one place so you can mix up your workouts every day of the week. Want to train in a group atmosphere? Crossfit Hygge in Mount Laurel offers group sessions for those interesting in getting in shape and having a supportive community. They also have a location in Cherry Hill.
