The Moriuchi Group is made up of several talented real estate professionals helping each other and our clients with their buying and selling needs. We want to introduce you to our team, one agent at a time, so you can get to know us a little better! Meet team member David Castorino…..
Why did you join the Moriuchi Group and why The Moriuchi Group?
When I first got my license, I knew I wanted to be working in Moorestown because that’s where I grew up. Before I met Naoji I worked as a solo agent at another Brokerage for a couple of years and it was really tough. After working non-stop and feeling overwhelmed, I felt it was time to join a team in order to receive more guidance and support. I was a part-time agent working for a marketing firm and Naoji was my client, we hit it off and he was just a really nice, intelligent guy to work for. I could also tell how knowledgeable he was about the real estate industry. The transition to his team just felt right and I soon joined the group as a full-time agent over two years ago. What’s funny is that being on his team I am actually doing more transactions than I was when I was a solo agent but having the operations team has allowed me more freedom and flexibility! I’m doing more business but have less stress which is a huge part of why I joined this group.
Why do you love being a real estate agent?
First and foremost is that I really do like helping people. The real estate process can be really stressful and tough but 9 times out of 10 there is an end transaction. It’s great being there to help guide your client every step of the way. Being a part of the team means I’m also able to provide my clients with even more support. The personnel we have at The Moriuchi Group makes the process that much easier for both myself and my clients. I know my clients won’t receive the same care anywhere else so I feel confident in what we can offer them. What makes you a good agent?
I’m great at connecting with people and I always wanted to be working in a field where you could get to know people and foster that growth by building strong relationships. It’s cool that real estate is a career where you can be a helpful resource that provides knowledge and insights for individuals in a big moment of their lives.
What’s your favorite part about living in South Jersey?
It’s such a convenient place to live being so central. We would go to the Poconos to ski and then of course drive an hour south and we are at the beach. It’s suburban without being too rural. The school systems are some of the best in the country. Growing up in Moorestown we could ride our bikes everywhere. Such an easy welcoming town to grow up in. My friends and I would fish at Strawbridge Lake, play frisbee at Square Field, and ride bikes all around town. The sense of community was great and it’s a place you always want to come back to.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love to cook, if I’m not working or hanging out with my wife and dog, I’m probably preparing a meal! I’m the head cook in my family, which my wife appreciates. We also enjoy going on hikes to work off all that food and just being able to disconnect and enjoy the nature around us.
What’s an interesting fact about you?
Since I was young I’ve always loved art and I was in gifted and talented art classes throughout grade school. I still love finding time to work on a project. Most recently I created “sea scenes” using sea glass I found from a recent trip to Mexico with my wife.
