Inside Look: Passariello’s

Passariello’s has been a mainstay on Main Street for over 20 years. Officially the “best pizza on Main Street Moorestown” as voted by our readers, Pasquale Passariello, President of Passariello’s Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen, was kind enough to answer some questions about their success and discuss what’s next for the Passariello Family.

Pasquale, who grew up in Naples, Italy, emigrated to the United States at age 19. His family, including his brothers and father, soon followed him to New Jersey. After working in the food industry all over the garden state, Pasquale began to dream about opening his own restaurant. He came up with the idea to combine different food offerings – like in a food court – into a single restaurant. From this idea Passariello’s was born, where they offer pizza, entrees, salads, sandwiches, and dessert.

What is it like to run such a successful family business?

It takes passion, culture of aspiring for excellence, and pride in your name.

What’s your secret?

Hard work, consistency, family, and dedication.

What is your favorite part about being located on Main Street in Moorestown?

The Passariello’s have been here for 20 years; many of the families that came in with their young children are now the next generation coming in with their families; we like the personalized contact and interaction with the community.

Passariello’s will soon be opening its third location – this time in downtown Haddonfield.

Can you tell us more about your new Haddonfield location?

The Haddonfield Passariello’s is the culmination of years in planning. It is the presentation of the new concept interiors and various types of new equipment and technology.

Will it be similar to the Moorestown and Voorhees locations?

The food, service, and cleanliness will be the same; the Passariello’s will oversee day to day operations with an all new management team and staff of 60-70.

Opening date in mind?

3rd quarter of 2017 (hopefully) we are in permitting now; we have selected Hessert Construction as the contractor and everyone is set to start the minute we are approved by the Borough.

Are you excited to be expanding into Haddonfield’s bustling downtown?

Very much so! Haddonfield offers a similar quaint and historical setting as Moorestown. The community-sponsored activities mirror many of the events we have seen in Moorestown. The schools are close and Passariello’s is very active and supportive in the education of the students.

Will you be offering delivery in Haddonfield?

Yes, delivery, pick-up, and off-premise catering are a big part of our focus. We utilize the latest in delivery technology to give our customers a consistent expected high quality experience. All of our drivers will be in uniform and have a lit Passariello’s sign on their car.

Last but not least, what is your most popular pizza item?

I think there is a tie between cheese, pepperoni, and the Brooklyn margherita, but every pizza stands on its own. Our pizza specialties are also very popular; stromboli, calzones, and broccoli rolls.

Not slowing down anytime soon

Passariello’s is planning for more expansion and pursuing locations in Marlton, Princeton and Philadelphia. Right now, they’re focusing on the opening of the Haddonfield location. With their groundbreaking ceremony just last month, they are looking forward to a big party for their late 2017 opening in Haddonfield. Stay tuned!
