In addition to its excellent school system and comparatively reasonable real estate taxes, it is known for its commitment to parks and recreation, and to preserving open space. Mt. Laurel boasts a wonderful system of public parks, tot lots and sports facilities. Just minutes from downtown Philadelphia and its sports complexes, it is noted for its accessibility – situated at a crossroads of the New York and Washington, D.C. travel corridors, Mt. Laurel provides easy commutes to those cities.

Mount Laurel Schools

The Mt. Laurel Public School System serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, with 6 neighborhood elementary schools, and Middle School split between the Mt. Laurel Hartford School, for grades 5 & 6, and the Thomas E. Harrington Middle School for grades 7 & 8. Public school students attend Lenape Regional High School, in Medford NJ, for 9th through 12th grades.

Mount Laurel Transportation

Mt. Laurel offers easy access to points North and South along the NJ Turnpike and Rte I-295, which go through Mt. Laurel. In addition, Rte. 73 affords a direct route to Northeast Philadelphia and to the Atlantic City Expressway, and Rte. 38 provides a quick drive to Center City Philadelphia. Public transportation options include riding the PATCO hi-speed line from the nearby Woodcrest Station, off of Rte. 295, and NJ Transit also provides bus service from Mt. Laurel to Philadelphia, Camden and the Moorestown and Cherry Hill malls. Greyhound Lines has a bus station on Fellowship Road in Mt. Laurel. A popular commuter bus, with good wi-fi, runs frequently between Mt. Laurel and New York City. Greyhound also has routes to many other destinations.
