Moorestown, New Jersey has it all. With a downtown area listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this vibrant town of about 21,000 has everything one looks for in the ideal suburban hometown. The town has proximity to Philadelphia, and easy access to the New York-Washington travel corridor, yet it retains a small-town feel. Its sense of community, superior public schools, and beautiful homes resulted in Money Magazine naming it the number one American town in 2005. As you drive through the gracious tree-lined streets, you pass wonderful examples of Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and American Foursquare architecture, as well as many more recently built top-of-the-line executive homes. Founded by Quakers in the 1600’s, Moorestown combines historic charm and a strong sense of tradition with many community volunteer organizations, town parades, and festivals along its Main Street.

About Moorestown

Moorestown Schools

Moorestown is home to top public schools, including three Elementary Schools, an Upper Elementary School, Middle School and High School. Considered one of the top secondary schools in South Jersey, Moorestown Public High School is rated in the Top 50 in New Jersey by the US News and World Report. In addition, the school boasts a very competitive full athletic program, in particular a standout girls’ lacrosse program.

Moorestown Transportation

Moorestown offers easy access to points North and South along the NJ Turnpike and Rte I-295, just West of town. In addition, Rte. 73 affords a direct route to Northeast Philadelphia and to the Atlantic City Expressway, and Rte. 38 provides a quick drive to Center City Philadelphia. Public transportation options include riding the PATCO hi-speed line from the nearby Woodcrest Station, off of Rte. 295, and NJ Transit also provides bus service from Moorestown to Philadelphia, Camden and the Moorestown and Cherry Hill malls. In nearby Mt. Laurel, Greyhound Lines has a bus station on Fellowship Road. A popular commuter bus, with good wi-fi, runs frequently between Mt. Laurel and New York City. Greyhound also has routes to many other destinations.

Though it maintains a small town charm, Moorestown is home to a surprising number of businesses. The majority of which are located in attractive industrial park settings or along the Rte 38 border of Moorestown and Mt. Laurel. Notable employers include Lockheed Martin, Masco Bath Corp. OPEX Corp, Miles Technologies, and a number of healthcare-related businesses and associations, including Bayada Healthcare, Tabula Rasa, Partners in Home Care, Inc., Sterling Medical Services, LLC and the Visiting Nurses Association Home Care Inc.

Moorestown Shops and Restaurants

Moorestown shoppers have it all. At the town’s rim are a large shopping plaza, Centerton Square and Centerton Commons, the Moorestown Mall, and the adjacent Eastgate Center. In town, there is a walkable business district with a great mix of small shops and restaurants. The shopping centers and mall provide big box stores, grocery stores, numerous specialty stores, department stores, as well as Mom and Pop stores with a a great deal of history.
